Danone Nutricia Research

Nutricia Research
More than 120 of our employees have received their PhD degrees. Our efforts are directed toward one goal: bringing health through food to as many people as possible. This is the foundation of our research and innovation.

Nutricia Research is the research and innovation organisation behind many well-known brands for infant formula, cereals and wet foods. We have products for people with specific nutritional needs, such as those with muscle loss, malnutrition, allergies and Alzheimer’s disease. Our products carry the brand name Nutricia or many others worldwide.

Our history
Our organisation is dynamic and has a rich history. Nutricia Research, part of Danone, was founded in the Netherlands in 1896. We began developing infant formulas and not long afterwards, we created the first nutritional product for patients suffering from goitre (a thyroid condition linked to a lack of iodine in the diet). Today, Nutricia Research continues to work from our global research and innovation hub in the Netherlands.

Our organisation is globally represented by scientists, product technologists and many other specialists. With 35 nationalities, and research and development locations in Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America, our scope is both global and regional. Our research and innovation areas have evolved, but we still begin with insights into nutrients and their role in optimal health, and build on that knowledge to tailor solutions for nutritional needs throughout the lifespan of our target populations.
